Arbor Fund

History of the Arbor Fund

In early 1990, it was proposed that the Richardson Woman’s Club Charitable Foundation, Inc. establish an Arbor fund. In 1994 RWC and the City of Richardson Parks Department held an Arbor Memorial Service and dedicated eight trees as honorariums and memorials for friends of the club. The names of the recipients of all memorials and honorary gifts are now contained in a lovely book, which is on display at each RWC general meeting.

The Arbor

In the spring of 2004, the RWCCF Board with matching funds and construction assistance from the City of Richardson built a beautiful Arbor on the property. The work began July 2005, and was completed prior to the November 2005 Tour of Homes.

The joint venture of donations to The Arbor Memorial Fund, the RWCCF Board and the City of Richardson has resulted in a beautiful structure that enhances the lovely grounds.

Memorials and donations continue to be made for the planting of trees and beautification of the property.
